The Freestyle Weltcup kicks off in Chur

With the famous Big Air in Chur, the Freestyle World Cup gets off to its usual early start to the season. After an outstanding and almost flawless last season, Mathilde Gremaud will be the one to beat. Lukas Müllauer and the rest of the team are also highly motivated to conjure up a good start in the snow and push their Fischer Nightsticks to peak performance.

Before all the other Alpine World Cups, the freestylers are already starting the new winter season 24I25 this weekend with the legendary City Big Air in Chur. Chur is famous for the pop-up venue in the city center and the outstanding atmosphere that goes with it, providing an appropriate setting for the start of a hopefully successful winter. The Fischer athletes have once again set their sights high for the winter.

First and foremost, of course, the absolute freestyle queen Mathilde Gremaud. Last winter, the Swiss athlete put on a season that no female freestyler before her has ever done in such a dominant fashion. There was not a single competition in which she did not finish on the podium. In the end, Mathilde had six wins and three second places to her name, which logically led to her winning the small overall ranking globes for slopestyle and big air, as well as the big globe for the overall freestyle World Cup. She will be the one everyone wants to beat this winter. But with a good preparation for the season and the Fischer Nightsticks under her feet, she will definitely be well prepared.

But Lukas Müllauer also had an extremely successful end to last season. He was the first Austrian ever to win a podium in slopestyle in Silvaplana on Corvatsch. Naturally, he wants to take this momentum into the new season and is going all out again. Just like Isak Davidsson and Tyler Harding, who will be competing for Sweden and Great Britain in the World Cup. The team is complemented by the young Austrian prospects Julius Fohrer and Noah Schallert who we can expect to see on the big stage as well.
