An alpine race season to remember

The World Cup weekend in Sun Valley marked the end of a long and eventful alpine racing season with a pleasing result. In general, the season was characterized by a few surprises and a strong performance by Fischer athletes at the world championships in all disciplines. We can proudly claim to be the only ski brand to have won a gold medal in all major Alpine and Nordic competitions.

The picture of the winter: Raphael Haaser (AUT) kneels in disbelief in the roaring finish area of the World Championship stadium in Saalbach (AUT), leans on his Fischer RC4 Noize skis and seems to be soaking up these moments to preserve them for the rest of his life. A few seconds ago, he made history by becoming only the fourth Austrian ever to win the gold medal in the giant slalom. And just a few days after winning the World Championship silver medal in the Super G on the same slope in Hinterglemm.

"I don't know what I should say or feel. This titel means more than I'm capable to understand. Today is for celebration, tomorrow I'll try to understand"

Raphael Haaser, Giant Slalom World Champion 2025

The season up to that point had been anything but easy for the man from Achensee. After an injury break, Haaser first celebrated an impressive comeback in Kitzbühel with a second place in the Super G and one day before his first World Championship race, sister and Fischer athlete Ricarda Haaser (AUT) tore her cruciate ligament in the same competition. Haaser also confirmed his form after the season and finished second again in the Super G in Sun Valley, USA, at the end of the season.

But it wasn't just Raphael Haaser who had a strong season with outstanding results, other athletes from the Fischer team also managed to provide some surprises and pleasing results over the course of the season. Here is an overview.

Stefan Rogentin:

The Swiss athlete showed consistently strong performances. He took second place in the overall Super-G rankings and won bronze in the Team Combined at the World Championships in Saalbach. He also took third place in the super-G races in Wengen (SUI) and Kitzbühel (AUT) as well as in the downhill races in Kvitfjell (NOR).

Lara Della Mea:

The Italian won the team competition together with the Italian selection at the World Championships in Saalbach and secured the gold medal, the greatest success in her young career to date. She is also showing very promising developments in the giant slalom and slalom disciplines in the World Cup.

Kristoffer Jakobsen:

The Swede made a strong start to the season with a second place in the first slalom in Gurgl (AUT). At the World Championships in Saalbach, he contributed to his team's success with a bronze medal in the team competition. As the season progressed, the Swede shone with excellent split times, but was rarely able to bring the result to the finish and was often eliminated.

Stefan Brennsteiner:

Stefan Brennsteiner's best result was a third place in the giant slalom in Val d'Isère (FRA), accompanied by several other top 10 finishes in the giant slalom. Brandy was always within striking distance of the podium, but was often a little unlucky, otherwise more podium places would certainly have been possible.

Luca Aerni:

The Swiss completed the successful team at the World Championships in Saalbach with a silver medal in the team competition, together with Thomas Tumler, Wendy Holdener and Delphine Darbellay.

The two Finns Elian Lehto (downhill and Super G) and Eduard Hallberg (slalom and giant slalom) have made very pleasing progress this season. Both have established themselves among the world's best and achieved several results in the top 10 in their disciplines, as has Tyrolean Dominik Raschner (AUT) and Daniel Yule (SUI). That gives hope for more. Neja Dvornik (SLO) also showed a much improved season performance in her slalom and giant slalom disciplines, while Katharina Huber (AUT) was also often able to finish in the top 15. The Americans around Bryce Bennett (downhill and Super G), Sam Morse (downhill and Super G) and Jett Seymour (slalom) were often to be seen in the points and the Brit Billy Major was also able to achieve his best World Cup result to date towards the end of the season. Like AJ Ginnis (GRE), Andreas Sander (GER) and Simone Wild (SUI), Ricarda Haaser (AUT) also had to contend with bad luck due to injury this season. After strong performances in the speed disciplines, she tore her cruciate ligament at the World Championships in Saalbach.

But the Fischer team's athletes have also achieved remarkable results outside of the Alpine Ski Racing World Cup, once again demonstrating the versatility and quality of the product portfolio. Especially in freestyle and ski mountaineering, the skis, boots and poles are used at the very highest level and deliver world-class performances week after week.

Mathilde Gremaud:

The Swiss rider shone at her home World Championships in Silvaplana by winning the gold medal in slopestyle, once again proving her GOAT status. Otherwise, Mathilde struggled in a season marked by injuries and mental problems, with her only World Cup victory coming at the Big Air opener in Chur. If you want to find out more about Mathilde and her career, you should take a look at her Red Bull documentary.

Marianne Fatton:

One year before the Olympic premiere in Cortina, the ski mountaineers are also getting into position. One of the top favorites is sure to be Marianne Fatton, who dominated the sprints at the World Championships in Morgins and won the World Championship title.

With a view to the Olympic Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo, there are some changes to the squad and this summer, more than ever, the focus is on preparing for an exciting winter 25I26. The Fischer athletes will be working intensively on their technique and equipment in the spring and will also be fine-tuning their equipment and setup together with the racing and development departments, before the summer is all about laying the physical foundations for the coming summer. Even though the racing winter has only just ended, we are already looking forward to the start of the season at the end of October.
