The Kyle Smaine Ranger 108 Tribute Ski
Kyle Smaine was an incredibly positive influence for everyone he met. He was also very influential on several important projects in Fischer. Whether helping test prototypes of new Ranger skis in his California backyard, flying high out of the Mammoth Mountain halfpipe on Nightsticks, or laying trenches on The Curv GT skis in Austria, he always pushed Fischer to make better skis and boots.
The limited-edition Kyle Smaine Ranger 108 commemorates the life of Kyle, who tragically passed in an avalanche in Japan in 2023. This Ranger 108 ski is adorned with a design created by Blaz Bajzelj that speaks to Kyle’s legacy of kindness, his passion for skiing, and his desire to spread the stoke for the sport he loved.
“The Kyle Tribute Ski beautifully honors Kyle's legacy, blending cherished memories of his passions—biking, surfing, and especially skiing,” says Jenna Dramise, Kyle’s partner. “He played a key role in developing the Ranger 108, which not only allows everyone to experience the joy of riding in deep powder, but also enhances performance for an unforgettable ride.”
A portion of each sale of the Kyle Smaine Ranger 108 will go to The Smaine Fund, a charity founded by Dramise in Kyle’s memory with the mission to help up-and-coming athletes succeed through financial assistance, mentorship, and training opportunities.
FREESKIER Magazine recently highlighted the ski in an article that includes interviews with Dramise and Blaž Bajezelj, who helped design the unique topsheet. “[The ski] serves as a heartfelt tribute to the sports he loved and the active, vibrant life he lived,” says Dramise.
